Altam ramps are fabricated to ensure safety and performance. “x3 of your heaviest forklift capacity that you will be using”.

In Example if your forklift capacity is 6000lbs you would x (multiply by) 3 = 18,000lbs Capaity ramp would be required which we fabricate to a min of 20,000lbs. 

By using this formula we can detemrine the thickness of material used in our cross members, along with adding any reinfocements necessary to based of a 2:1 safety factor. Altam fabricates custom capacities upon request.

Please add 5,000lbs to the board capacity when using a 3-wheel forklift or trucks using a paper roll clamp. 

§4411. Bridge and Dock Plates.

In addition to the requirements of Section 3337:

(a) Bridge or dock plates shall be furnished and used to bridge the area between a dock and truck or railcar.

(b) The sides of bridge or dock plates shall have an upturn or lip of at least 4 inches extending between the edge of the loading dock and edge of car or truck floor or other devices whenever the span exceeds 18 inches to prevent wheeled equipment from running off the sides.

1910.26 OSHA – Dock Boards

Dockboards are capable of supporting the maximum intended load in accordance with § 1910.22(b);

 2-3 Days Lead time 

Altam dock boards come ready to use at a max of 7″ height differential. 

We can fabricate to any height reuqirement if you are needing to reach above 7″.
